Winter is holding strong at altitude this Friday, March 20, 2026. In Oz en Oisans (Oz 3300), the skiing conditions are excellent. Pauline BOUTON and the entire LA CABANE À SKIS team are waiting for you 50 meters from the slopes to adjust your bindings with a smile. Here is the actual state of the ski area to help you organize your day.

Mild at the bottom, deep winter up there

Late March often offers the brightest days. At the resort (1350m), the thermometer fluctuates between -1°C and +3°C. This is an ideal temperature for an early morning start without shivering. At the summit of Pic Blanc, at 3330m, the air remains brisk with values between -5°C and -10°C. This dry cold protects the snow quality. Good news for powder fans: a disturbance is arriving soon to whiten the summits again.

What is the snow condition?

The massif is generous this year. At the bottom of the resort, we are measuring between 120 and 185 cm of snow. This is a solid base for skiing with complete peace of mind. As you go higher, the numbers climb.

At 3330m, the accumulation reaches between 350 and 430 cm. On the Plateau de l’Alpette, above 2000m, the snow remains cold and light. To visualize this high-mountain atmosphere, take a look at our story on the snowy atmosphere in Oz-en-Oisans.

Safety and openings

The Grand Domaine Ski is accessible at 80% or 85% of its capacity. The link to Alpe d’Huez is perfectly maintained. For skiers who love long descents, the Sarenne run is ready. Return to the resort is possible without removing your skis via the Olmet and Poutran trails.

A point of caution: the avalanche risk is rated at 3/5 on the Grandes Rousses massif. We advise you to stay on the marked runs. Off-piste skiing imperatively requires the accompaniment of a guide or a mountain professional.

The workshop

Compact snow in the morning requires responsiveness underfoot. The LA CABANE À SKIS workshop takes care of preparing your boards. Our sharpening service guarantees sharp edges for precise carving. You gain in safety and skiing comfort.

We also offer a multi-ski service to adapt your skis to the forecast. You can test our Adult Freeride range if fresh snow falls as expected at the summit. Finally, we insist on wearing a helmet. It is the essential accessory to enjoy your stay with peace of mind.

Access

The main road D44A is completely clear. You will drive up to the resort without trouble. However, expect some isolated patches of black ice due to the morning frost. Caution is advised when driving during the first hours of the day.

Check that your chains or snow socks are in your trunk (it is mandatory). Note that the Villard-Reculas link via the D44B is currently closed. To arrive smoothly, go through Allemond.

Anticipate your arrival by booking your equipment online. If you have already arrived in Oz-en-Oisans, come see us directly at Chemin des jeux, in the Les Myrtilles residence (L’olmet sector). We look forward to sharing our passion with you. See you soon on the slopes!
